ABOUT ADAM

Adam Meakins is a fully qualified Specialist Physiotherapist, Sport Scientist and Strength & Conditioning Coach holding BSc (hons) in both Physiotherapy and Sports Science

 

He has over 25 years experience working in both the public and private healthcare sectors, and in professional and amateur sports. 

 

Adam has been fortunate enough to work with and learn from some of the world's leading experts and has helped a wide and diverse range of people return to full pain-free function after disease and injury.

 

Adam understands the importance of good simple honest rehab for all and tries to avoid and highlight all the silly bullshit that riddles this profession

Adam has had extensive training and clinical experience in sports trauma and orthopaedic assessment and treatment and always looks for the most effective and efficient approach to help people recover as quickly and safely as possible.

 

His main philosophy is to do the simple things really well and dont get distracted by all the fancy complex bullshit that's rarely needed.

 

Adam strongly believes in a practical, pragmatic but evidence-based approach and is passionate about educating patients and clinicians on the evidence or lack of it for many things within the rehab world 

Adam has been teaching for over 15 years both nationally and internationally.

 

He teaches his highly acclaimed "The Painful Shoulder: Complex ≠ Complicated" course and has been a keynote speaker at many conferences.

 

He also hosts The Better Clinician Project which is a monthly online educational source for rehab professionals.

 

Adam has also published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals on Manual Therapy, Frozen Shoulder, Shoulder Symptom Modification, and Swearing.

 

He is currently working on some research looking into the effects of communication and rehab skills.
